Ophardt Maritim is the young, future orientated brand of Ophardt R & D GmbH und Co KG. The research and development unit set up in 2001 belongs to the Ophardt Group of companies who operate globally. The company founded by Hermann Ophardt, an entrepreneur, inventor and naval architect in 1960, is an innovative family owned and run company that employs more than 400 people globally and is active on 3 continents.
At the beginning oft he 1960’s Herrmann Ophardt revolutionised hospital hygiene with the introduction of the first disinfection dispenser made of aluminium. He laid the corner stone for the Ophardt Group of Companies who now operate globally and employ more than 400 people. Ophardt Maritim profiit from the experience gained in aluminium production processes. Thanks to extensive investments in research and development the Ophardt group has numerous patents and are recognised as an innovative group of companies.
Founding of Ophardt Maritim
In the year 2000 Hermann Ophardt returned to his roots as a naval architect and established Ophardt Maritim, he drew on the core competence and strength of Ophardt Hygiene. By virtue of the company’s history and Hermann Ophardt’s roots the competence of Ophardt Martim expanded as an OEM in the boat industry. In the Duisburg shipyard, Europe’s biggest river port, we produce high quality aluminium boats.
Mid 2017 Ophardt Maritim and their managing Director Michael Mathias decided to expand their offer and began to produce and offer fully fitted (turnkey) boats as a white label product as well as the boat hulls. The cooperation between Ophardt Maritim and Michael Mathias proves to be a strong merger thanks to the experience of Mr. Mathias’s family company „Boot&Camping“ who have been importing aluminium boats since the early 1980’s and who have supplied more than 400 boats to both German and Austrian Authorities.
